Christ Church Pennington Wedding of Ellie and Liam

Weddings have a way of reminding us of what matters most: love, family, and shared memories. There’s something truly special about family weddings — the laughter, the happy tears, the joyful reunions, and the love that weaves through every moment. Ellie and Liam’s wedding in the Christ Church Pennington was more than just a union of two people, a coming together of two families, completing a journey started some years ago. Liam and Ellie came together through a shared experience within the church (Ellie’s father is the Church Operations Manager) and other activities in drama and singing, so it was a natural thing.

The church service was a full participation celebration featuring a live band and gospel singing, and then moved to the reception in a marquee in the church garden. Ellie’s parents’ and Liam and Ellie’s homes are just a stone’s throw away from each other, as well as the church. Everything is local, and I don’t need to drive. Box ticked. However drive I did. It was a hot, humid day, threatening to rain but never actually doing so. However, those few minutes I spent in the car driving between homes and the church with the aircon on full blast were so precious. Yes, I know - carbon footprint yada yada.

This wasn’t just any wedding — it was filled with meaningful family traditions and thoughtful personal touches. The food, cake, floral displays and decorations were all home-made, contributed by family and friends. I think this adds a special personal touch and makes the whole thing a more intimate and memorable occasion. In all, this was a great wedding celebration. Thanks.
